Thank you for sharing your meticulous approach to setting up a testbed. Your transparency is much appreciated. You've clearly refined a robust framework for testbed development. Considering Africa's diverse contexts, I'd love to know if you envision this model being replicated in Nigeria. What opportunities or challenges do you anticipate would influence its adoption in the Nigerian setting?
At the moment we haven't planned any replication in the Nigerian context specifically. More generically speaking, what is important when replicating the context is to assess the different systemic factors, such as decision-making about EdTech procurement decisions, pedagogical support system and teacher confidence in using EdTech. I would also assess the strengths of EdTech players such as Injini plays in South Africa who is responsible for sourcing and guiding the EdTech testbed journey for all stakeholders.
Do you have any particular insight in what might be relevant? And would you see a potential for replication in Nigeria?
I just read your message, and I wished responded sooner. I reflected on your model for future collaboration. There is an initiative with a similar intent, even though it was not explicitly framed as a testbed. However, this initiative lacks the research rigor needed to effectively gather edtech evidence, which an ICEIE could provide. Currently, our edtech evidence system is nascent and fragmented, but many relevant stakeholders are eager for a transparent platform that aligns incentives.
If we can enhance the research rigour and better articulate and align stakeholder incentives, there is significant potential for replication in Nigeria.
